The master's thesis deals with the contacts of the New Baptists with the representatives of the Moravian nobility in the light of provincial legal sources. Based on the study of four areas: the proceedings of the provincial assemblies, the Bernics, complaints and disputes, and events after 1620, it tries to to define the position of the New Christians within the framework of provincial law, which was shaped by the interaction of the New Christians with the Moravian nobility. This relationship proved to be crucial for the New Baptists' activities in Moravia, since it was thanks to their noble patrons that theythe New Christians, who belonged to the marginal groups of Moravian society, a much more conciliatory position
Abstract
The master‘s thesis deals with the relation of the Anabaptists and the Moravian nobility on the basis of the provincial law sources. Regarding four different parts (negotiations of land diets, taxes, complaints and arguments, events after 1620) the thesis attempts to define the Anabaptists‘ status in the provincial law, which was greatly formed by the interaction of the Anabaptists and the Moravian nobility. This relation turned out to be a key element of the Anabaptists‘ activity in Moravia, for it was mainly thanks to the protection of the Moravian noblemen, that the provincial law dealt with the Anabaptists, generally considered to be „the social outsiders“, in a much more conciliatory way
