Abstract
This publication presents the art-historical development of Lednice Castle, its interiors, and park. It is supplemented by contemporary and historical images, portraits, and plans directly from the collections of the Princes of Liechtenstein and unpublished archives of the Austrian National Library. The book covers the castle's history from medieval fortress origins through Renaissance villa stages, the Baroque "horse castle," and Maria Theresa's princely hunting lodge. It also discusses architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach's baroque stables and the Lednice greenhouse, highlighted as an outstanding example influenced by contemporary English industrial architecture.
