Research

Research into Czech-Liechtenstein relations and the activities of the House of Liechtenstein in the territory of today's Czech Republic is supported by a long-standing tradition. Members of the Czech-Liechtenstein Commission of Historians can build on this enduring history of scholarship. There is extensive specialized literature on this subject.

The Czech-Liechtenstein Commission of Historians deals with the history of the Liechtenstein Princely House, as well as the history of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Czech lands. In recent years, numerous publications on Liechtenstein—particularly in Moravia—have been produced for both academic audiences and the general public. These works highlight the rich cultural heritage of the House of Liechtenstein left in Moravia in the form of castles, palaces, churches, estates, and vineyards. Significant research findings have emerged on both the Liechtenstein and Czech sides.

They are dealt with both in shorter works by individual authors (e.g. Lucia Dallabona, Ondřej Horák, Václav Horčička, Marek Vařeka) as well as in comprehensive works (e.g. David Beattie, Peter Geiger, Herbert Haupt, Tomáš Knoz, Rupert Quaderer, Thomas Winkelbauer, Jan Županič) examining the mutual relations between the Czech Republic and Liechtenstein.. The Czech-Liechtenstein Commission of Historians could and can build its research work on these valuable foundations.
