On Sunday, April 6, 2025, our long-standing Co-Chairman Dr. Peter Geiger passed away after a short, serious illness.
PD Dr. Peter Geiger
was a historian and long-time lecturer at the University of Teacher Education St. Gallen and later a private lecturer at the University of Fribourg. He dedicated his research to Liechtenstein history during the 1930s and the Second World War.
He was a founding member of the Liechtenstein Institute and from 1987 to 2010 he was Research Officer for Contemporary History. From 2010 to 2020, he was appointed Co-Chairman of the Liechtenstein-Czech Historical Commission.
The Historical Commission mourns the loss of its esteemed colleague, who was strongly committed to the historical reappraisal of Liechtenstein-Czech relations.
